We were thrilled to partner with the Thornberry Unit of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City to help judge their Youth of the Year and Junior Youth of the Year competition. We’d like to send our big congratulations to Zoei (10th grade), winner of Youth of the Year, and Joshua (6th grade), winner of Junior Youth of the Year.
After working with the Thornberry Unit in May as part of Kolbe Strengths Week, we can testify first-hand about the many awesome students that are a part of this program. E3’s mission is to help build resilience in our youth, and that is exactly what the Boys & Girls Clubs are doing in Kansas City.
Since 1947, Youth of the Year has been an important recognition program, focusing on making Club members aware of their own leadership abilities. It helps youth recognize their own potential and cultivate their skills as future leaders.

Youth of the Year winners will go on to compete at the local, state, regional, and national levels. Last year, Thornberry’s Youth of the Year went all the way to Regionals and took home second place. Good luck to Zoei as she competes in February to represent KC!
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City inspires kids to live out their dreams through affordable, accessible opportunities in the urban core. More than 5,000 local kids get to experience the life opportunities every child deserves. They benefit from outlets to learn and grow, access to mentors and peers who care, and the chance to let loose and be a kid – all in a safe space.
It has been a pleasure to get to know this organization and these amazing future leaders. If you work with a school or nonprofit and would like to partner with E3, please don’t hesitate to send us an email at hello@e3.test! We’d love to talk.
